SEPANG (Apr 6, 2019) – It was an awesome start to the FIA Formula 4 SEA Championship 2019 season as Frenchman Hadrian David roared away to emerge the winner of a thrilling first race at the Sepang International Circuit this morning.
David, who started second on the grid behind yesterday’s fastest driver, Emil Skaras, turned in a stunning performance from the flag-off to top the podium in a time of 20 minutes 11.816 seconds.
It was a close start with four drivers charging into the first turn but it was Irish driver Luca Allen who snatched the lead and David dropped back to fourth. Early on the second lap, Skaras from Sweden dropped into seventh with a damaged wing, following a clash with another driver. Skaras would eventually end up in eighth position.
Allen and David began to pull away from the rest where a tight battle ensued, but David soon found his way past Allen on the fourth lap and never looked back.
Allen battled hard to chase down David and eventually settled for second spot in a time of 20:15.981 while Malthe Jakobsen from Denmark was third at 20:19.590.
